All praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, Creator of both man and jinn. Peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Muhammad, who was sent as a Mercy and a Guide to all creatures.

Peace be upon you, brothers and sisters, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, and welcome.

A website that plays Quranic MP3s. Is there such a thing? The closest I have came across is Islam Way (which by the way, is where I got all these MP3s from), but one has to download them first. As a result of this I said to myself: why not have a website with a one-click playability for Quranic MP3s?

After downloading the MP3s, I thought: Blogger is one of the many great blog hosting sites, and imeem is a vibrant place where millions share their music, videos and photos with others. I have been blogging quite a bit, and I have uploaded some songs on imeem, so why not bring these two together?

So, after much toil and trouble, I present to you the end product: playlists of Quranic MP3s by four Qaris, a la blog entries. The Surahs are in groups of 19, for easier searching and playability. You might be asking, why THESE four? It is because I personally like their way of reading, and to me, they are the more prominent ones. I have also included some links to useful sites regarding Islam in general.

I hope you, the visitor, would find this website/blog useful, and if you do, I humbly ask that you please help pass this along freely, and in doing so, God willing, you will be rewarded for it, and for every single person who it is passed on to, as well.

Narrated Ibn Abbas r.a.: The Prophet pbuh narrating about his Lord said, "Allah ordered (the angels appointed over you) that the good and the bad deeds be written, and He then showed (the way) how (to write). If somebody intends to do a good deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write for him a full good deed (in his account with Him); and if he intends to do a good deed and actually does it, then Allah will write for him (in his account) with Him (its reward equal) from ten to seven hundred times, to many more times; and if somebody intended to do a bad deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write a full good deed (in his account) with Him, and if he intended to do a bad deed and actually does it, then Allah will write one bad deed (in his account)". (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol. 8, Hadith No. 498.)

It is hoped that this small effort on my part may be pleasing to Allah, His Messenger, and all those who visit. Ameen.

It takes a long time for the playlists to download.

The playlists are hosted on imeem's servers. If you are experiencing slow download speeds, it may be that imeem's servers are down. Download speeds can also vary according to many factors, such as your Internet connection speed, processor speed and the time of the day, depending on your area, and so on.

Alternatively, if you're using IE, you might like to try using Mozilla's Firefox instead. In my personal experience, the playlists load faster when I use Firefox.

Some Surahs are incomplete. The mp3 is only 30secs long, whereas the Surah is longer than that.

The mp3s of all Surahs I uploaded are full-length ones. If you come across this problem, simply refresh the page by clicking on the link at the top right hand corner of the page, and go back to the Surah.

Can I download the mp3s?

Yes you can! Clicking on the 'DOWNLOAD' button at the bottom left of any playlists, while any Surah is playing, will lead you to the option of downloading the Surah from iTunes, or buying it from amazon. If that is not an issue to you, you may proceed to do so.

Alternatively, you may want to download the mp3s from Islam Way instead.

Surah al-Jathiyah by Mishary is missing.

Islam Way doesn't have the mp3 for that particular Surah by Mishary. I'm still searching for it. In the meantime, please do listen to al-Jathiyah by the other three Qaris.
